Printing Guide

Brace export and printing instructions.

Use these notes as a starting point for slicing, printing, and checking the exported brace.

Export

  • Export either STL or 3MF from the configurator.
  • The model exports upright.
  • If a slicer reports an empty initial layer, lower the model by about 0.1 mm in the slicer and slice again.

Slicer Setup

  • Confirm both brace halves are on the build plate.
  • Inspect the first layer preview before starting the print.
  • Use supports only if your selected orientation or printer requires them.
  • Check the Velcro slots and thumb opening in layer preview for clean toolpaths.

Suggested Settings

  • Layer height: 0.20 mm.
  • Wall loops: 2 or more.
  • Infill: ~15%.
  • Material: PLA or PETG for a first test print.
  • Print a fit test before relying on the brace for daily use.

Post-Print Check

  • Remove sharp edges before wearing.
  • Confirm the thumb opening has comfortable clearance.
  • Confirm strap slots are open and straps slide freely.
  • Do not use a cracked, warped, or painful brace.
